As more and more of us doubt the efficiency of measures taken, as the credibility of authorities wanes more and more, the Corporate States, the media, and authorities continue to assure us of their trustworthiness. As we got more news regarding Van der Leyen’s connection to Pfizer and the truly worrying implications of the whole Pfizer deal affair, it is only normal and befitting to ask ourselves if it is truly wise to keep trusting the „process”, the „science” and the authorities.
One of the blatant cases of conflict of interests that has been grossly and outrageously overlooked was the relation between FDA and representatives and employees of Big Pharma. FDA is the federal agency of the USA that has mainly „the responsibility for protecting the public health by ensuring the safety, efficacy, and security of human and veterinary drugs, biological products, and medical devices”. So,it would be safe to say that FDA is the bulwark of safety and protection when it comes to the health of the citizens of the USA. FDA is the agency that protects American citizens from any type of product that would endanger their health.
A quick look through the roster of drug risk and immunity groups and committees at FDA can give us a good idea in what way Big Pharma has a foothold in health control and regulation. Merck, Glaxo, Janssen, have representatives, higher-up employees in the FDA Immunisation and drug regulation committees. The Commissioner of the FDA, Scott Gottlieb from 2017 to 2019 was also a board member at Pfizer. Current FDA Commissioner Robert Califf was a paid consultant for Merck Sharp & Dohme, Johnson & Johnson, GlaxoSmithKline, AstraZeneca, and Eli Lilly and still remains a consultant for some of the companies.
Former FDA Commissioner Janet Woodstock was also involved in the oxycontin and opioid scandal and “presided over the worst medical regulatory failure in U.S. history” according to Dr. Andrew Kolodny, a senior scientist and medical director of Brandeis’ Opioid Policy Research Collaborative (https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/jan/28/fda-janet-woodcock-opioids-biden)
Another institution that needs to be put under the spotlight is the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. From 2014 to 2018 CDC received major sponsorship and donations from Pharma giants such as Pfizer, Merck, Biogen, exactly 79$ million, and from its creation , 161$ million Big Pharma sponsorship.
In 2018 The Director of CDC, Brenda Fitzgerald purchased shares in pharma giants Merck and Bayer as well in a Big Tobacco brand. Some of these cases, may have transpired, sometimes measures have been taken but in most cases, all these conflicts of interest are blatantly overlooked, both by state authorities and media. At the same time, we are being told to trust Big Pharma, trust the state, trust the Science. Science is not an entity or a person to be trusted, science is knowledge, it is means to something, it’s whether we trust those who use science to make the medical products. We have used science for both good and bad, and at the moment with all the facts and the evidence we have, it is quite an impossible job to trust Big Pharma and the State’s corporate-sponsored institutions.
